Thurrock Foodbank do a “Reverse Advent Calender” every year at Christmas. They ask for an item of food to be purchased every day in November that goes together to make a hamper for one of their families in need of a little extra help.
This charity is a vital resource to some, and indeed 3 of our congregation are regular volunteers collecting at several supermarkets throughout Thurrock and find the experience most rewarding.
This year we were able to supply 12 hampers the total weight being in excess of 186 kg.
This donation from Wellcome Church was gratefully received by the foodbank manager of the warehouse in Chase Rd Corringham.
